At the time of her death she was residing with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. William Haley, near Hohenwald, Tenn. Miss Conder and Mrs. Haley were young girls when the mob came to the Conder farm and shot down their two brothers, William Martin Conder and John Riley Hudson, a son of Mrs. Conder by a former marriage, and Elders William S. Berry and John H. Gibbs, missionaries from Utah. The mob slaying occured the morning of Aug. 10, 1884, as the missionaries met with the family to hold a Sunday morning service.
