Will of Samuel Lusk 18th of April 1844. Lewis Co. Tn.. In the name of God Amen. I Samuel Lusk of the State of Tennessee and Lewis county, considering the uncertainty of the martal life and being of sound mind and memory, do make and -------? this my last will & testament in manner and form following. Viz; 1st I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth the use and benefit of all my Negroes until my son Samuel is twenty one years of age. At that time a division of my Negroes shall take place 2nd I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth two Negroes which she shall then chuse to ---? her use and to be ----- at her disposal. But if she dos not dispose of them, it is my will that they be equeally the property of my five children that are now living. Viz. Thomas, Eleanor, Priscila and Saml. 3rd I also give and bequeath unto my son Samuel one Negro of seven or eight years of age, horse saddle and bridle when he is twenty one years of age. It is my will that the remainder of my Negroes be equally divided amongst my five children their names above written. I do also give and bequeath unto my son Samuel my upper and lower plantations lying on both sides of the middle of drie fork of Catheys Creek; With this exception my wife Elizabeth shall have the use and benefit of my upper place, dwelling house and out houses during her lifetime.
