Our subject was born June 9, 1847, and spent his early days on his father's farm. In 1876 he was married to Ida DYER, who was born in Lincoln County in 1857, and is a daughter of J. Mr. PIGG resided with his parents until twenty-eight years of age, but after his twenty-first birthday began doing for himself. He was in partnership with his father and brother, Claybone, in the farming interests eight years, and then worked on the home-farm four years longer. He now owns a farm of 450 acres, on which he resides, besides 200 acres in another tract; and, in connection with his brother, Joseph, owns 1,000 acres in Lawrence County. He is an energetic and honest business man and as such as the respect of all. He raises, buys and ships a large amount of stock, and in politics he is a Democrat.
