Gilliam This Indenture made this the 12th day of August 1879, between Margaret Boyd widow of Henry Boyd, deed and the following named heirs of said Henry Boyd, deed to wit: W. K. Boyd, Robert Boyd, Andrew Boyd, Samuel Boyd, Mary J. Boyd, Martha E. Boyd, John Mason and wife Sarah Mason (formerly Sarah Boyd), Jno. T. Spray and wife Nancy Spray (formerly Nancy Boyd) all of the one part and William G. Gilliam of the other part, all of the State of Tennessee, witnesseth: That the said parties of the first part in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Seventy dollars ($270.00), to them in hand paid by said Gilliam the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth transfer and consign unto the said William G. Gilliam, his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and eighty acres more or less. Situated and lying in Lincoln County, Tennessee, Civil District No. 22, on the waters of Flint River and bounded as follows: Beginning at a post oak W. G. Gilliam corner standing in the north boundary line of an eight hundred acre grant of A Boyd, running thence south with said Gilliam line 267 poles to a poplar at the corner of his land, thence east 34-1/2 poles, thence north with west with Gilliam line to his northwest corner, thence east 102 poles to his southeast corner, thence south 72-1/2 poles in his southeast corner, thence east 210 poles to the Beverly line of Razell line, thence south with this line to a white oak Razells corner, thence west 210 poles to a corner of his land, thence north with his line about 40 poles to a stake and pointers Stewarts southeast corner, thence west 99 poles to a stake and pointers, thence north 89 poles to stake and pointers, thence west 34-1/2 poles to the beginning containing one hundred and eighty acres (180) more or less, for consideration of two hundred and seventy dollars ($270), to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appertenances, estate, title and interest thereunto belonging to him the said Gilliam his heirs and assigns forever and the said parties of the first part doth hereby covenant with the said Gilliam, his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized and possessed of said land in fee simple and that they have a good right to convey the same and that the same is unencumbered, the said parties of the first part further covenant with said Gilliam his heirs and representatives, to warrant and forever deferred the title to said lands to said Gilliam, his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever .
