Date: Mon, 5 May 1997 01:17:15 -0400 (EDT) Two brothers, Willis LIVELY b. abt. 1803 in Virginia and James LIVELY b. abt. 1808 in Virginia had the following families on the 1880 Lincoln Co. Census: Willis LIVELY 47M Carpenter VA Polly 40 F VA John 15M TN Angeline 13F TN James 10M TN Frances 6 F TN Willis 2M TN Mary 3/12F TN James LIVELY 42M (Blank) VA Martha 42F TN William 15M TN Elizabeth 12 F TN James 10M TN Milley 8 F TN Willis 5 M TN Martha 4 F TN Sorry for all the wiggly-waggly columns. Does anyone have any connects with any of the two families? The son, James (who had the parents named Willis and Polly) lived in Lincoln Co. until he left with some other families in between the years of 1885-1890. James married Sarah C. Claunch in 1873 and had three children. The last was born May 1879 and she died of consumption March 1880. The 1880 Census showed James and his three children, also his sister Frances E. was there helping him take care of them. He shows up in Newton Co., Arkansas, remarries in 1890, Margaret Risley and has two more children. This family is closely associated with the following families: DICKEY, DEAN, STRONG, FLOYD, COOK and GEORGE families. It appears that they all picked up and headed for Newton and Searcy Counties in Arkansas. If anyone is working on any of these people, please contact me. Thanks a zillion! I placed a query in the group about a month ago with no response to-date. I would very much like to find more information on Wesley. I have no idea who his parents were, but he did name his first son John and when he died the next son was named John. In 1850 census Gibson Co., TN Wesley is shown as being born in AL. Can you help me? JoAnn ---------- End of message ---------- From: PATRICK GUDAITIS Subject: Re: Elzada HALL m. Jackson SMITH Date: Thu, 08 May 1997 18:43:53 -0700 George, Is that why I saw you looking in Laurens Co. South Carolina? The father of Thomas Hall was Ambrose Hall. Ambrose died about 1848. He first appears in the 1820 Tennessee Census as Ambrose Halls. He had three sons, Joseph, Thomas and William H. (in age order). There was a Loucinda Hall mentioned in records. I'm not sure if she was the wife of Joseph or a daughter of Ambrose. I found a marriage reference of Loucinda A. Hall to Jonathan O. Thompson in 1838. I do know that she was living in Mississippi in 1849. Joseph, I lost after 1840. Thomas, I lost after 1850. However, I suspect that his son Thomas J. fought in the Cival War. Ezalda married late in 1860 which makes me think that the family was skipped in the census. There is a chance that Thomas' wife, Adaline, may be the Adaline listed in the 1870 census. It is either she or the wife of William S. Hall of 1850. I'll have to look further. William H. Hall, I suspect is my Great-great grandfather who is listed in the 1850 census. I still need more to conclude the relationship. I have a lot more information if you need it. Just touching bases. My ggggrandfather, William D. MILNER b. 1777 VA, Richmond Co. moved along with his family to Lincoln Co. TN abt 1819. His wife (this being his second wife) was Kizziah EAST of SC, Laurens Co. and his sons by a former marriage moved with him. The sons were Richard E. b. 1810 SC Laurens Co., Thomas "Tom" b. 1811 SC, and Williamson b. 1813 SC. Richard met and married an Elizabeth ? and had a son Billy and a daughter, Nancy Elizabeth while in TN. Afterh the death of Elizabeth he married Sarah Mondora HUDSON. Thomas met and married a Silia ? (Secilia??). The whole family left Lincoln Co. abt 1832, and moved to Cherokee Co. AL. If anyone is familiar with this family, or has any information they could share about them I certainly would appreciate it. William didn't show on the 1820 census in Lincoln Co., but I have land records showing where he did pay taxes there in 1819. Thank you very much for your help and your time. Judy C. I believe this list was the first county level email list on the Internet. In fact, although at this writing (July 1998) there are hundreds of such lists, in those days there was a debate about the need for specific lists. Since the demise of LCT-L, the list was moved to the Rootsweb servers and renamed TNLINOL-L. Currently there almost 350 subscribers to that list. -George Waller (moderator)
