Evans, who died at her home early Friday morning after a short illness were held at the residence, Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Prof. R. K. Morgan. Mrs. Evans, daughter of the late Nathaniel Lewis and Jane Llewelyn Dryden, was born and reared in Bedford County, but resided in the Petersburg community for the past twenty years. She was a fine Christian woman, loved by everyone with whom she met. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Clayton Scott, of Petersburg, and Mrs. M. E. Leonard, of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sons, Jesse Evans, of Shelbyville; Coyle Evans, of Bakersfield; and D. Evans, of Greenwood, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. Horace G. White, of Vicksburg, Miss.; and several grandchildren. Burial in Old Orchard Cemetery.
