Hastings, 80, who died at his home Saturday at 4:00 p.m., after a short illness, were held Sunday at the Church of Christ, by Elders D. D. Woody and B. F. Hart. He was a lifelong resident of the community. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Foster Hastings; two daughters, Mrs. Exie Woodard and Mrs. Paul Jones, of Memphis; five sons, Herschel, Burford, Hatton, and Joe, of Petersburg, and Herbert Hastings, of Nashville; one sister, Mrs. Lee Rambo, of Fayetteville; two brothers, Jesse and Will Hastings, of Petersburg, and several grandchildren. Burial at Old Orchard Cemetery.
