All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/tnfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Dwight Winsett dwinsett@nmol.com September 30, 2005, 2:27 am Lincoln County News - October 12, 1939 Marsh Petersburg was saddened early Wednesday morning when word was received here that Miss Melba Marsh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Marsh, had been accidentally killed in a car wreck in Alabama in which she and five other young people were riding ran into a truck loaded with steel, demolishing the car and injuring the young people. Funeral services for Miss Marsh, 24, were held at the Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m., by Mr. Kenneth Morgan, Mr. L. I. Mills, assisted by Rev. J. B. Alexander. She is survived by her parents, an adopted sister, Miss Dawn Young; several aunts and uncles. Melba was a sweet girl, always smiling as she met you. The beautiful flowers and friends that came to sympathize with the bereaved parents spoke for the beautiful life of Miss Melba. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Burial at Old Orchard Cemetery.
