Marsh, who died at her home Sunday afternoon at 6:00 p.m., following a short illness were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., by Eld. R. A. Largen, assisted by Prof. L. I. Mills. Mrs. Marsh was the eldest daughter of the late Dr. John and Mary Leonard Cowden, pioneer family of this section. She was graduated from Soule Girls School, of Murfreesboro. She was a lifelong member of the Petersburg Church of Christ. She was devoted to church work and was prominent in the social, literary and charitable activities of the church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Everett Beasley and Mrs. Roy Holland, of Nashville; Miss Maybelle Marsh and Mrs. Clifford Archer, of Petersburg; three sons, George E. Marsh, of Nashville, and Dr. C. P. Marsh, and Earl Marsh, of Petersburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Jones, of Fort Worth, Texas and Mrs. Maude Pierce, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Rev. John B. Cowden, of Raymondville, Texas; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Burial was in Old Orchard Cemetery.
