Montgomery, 42, who died suddenly while playing softball in Clinton, Tenn. on Tuesday night, were conducted Thursday at the local Methodist Church of which he was a member. The pastor, Rev. M. K. Harwell officiated, assisted by Prof. R. K. Morgan, and Prof. L. I. Mills of Shelbyville. Mr. Montgomery had lived at Petersburg until recently when he went to Clinton, where he was being employed. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Wilma Hart Montgomery; two sons, Jerry and Billy Montgomery; his father, James A. Montgomery, of Petersburg; one brother, James Edward Montgomery; one niece, Betty Montgomery. Burial was in Old Orchard Cemetery.
