She had been confined to her home for the past five weeks. The funeral was held Saturday at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, at 4:00 p.m. by Rev. S. O. McAdoo and Rev. H. J. Burroughs. She was born and reared in Bedford County, the daughter of Robert and Harriet Stewart Hastings. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Miss Leona Nelms, and one son, Robert Nelms, of Petersburg, and four grandsons, Thurman Nelms, of Memphis, and Doyle, Paul and Lewis Nelms, of Petersburg; one sister, Mrs. Ida Phillips, of Shelbyville. Burial at Old Orchard Cemetery.
