Rodes, son of the late Capt. and Mrs. I. T. Rodes, of Fayetteville, died at his home Sunday after a brief illness. Funeral services were from the residence Monday morning at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. M. K. Harwell in charge, assisted by Rev. E. F. Baulch and Eld. Allen Shaddy. Survivors, besides his wife, are four daughters, Mrs. William Lynes, of Madison, Mrs. Hutton Brown, of Pulaski, and Mrs. Rosser Ward, of Atlanta and Mrs. I. S. Davidson, of Petersburg; one son, James Rodes, of Petersburg; several grandchildren. Mr. Rodes was one of the most substantial citizens of the Petersburg community, a man of high ideals and strong Christian character, such that his labors will be greatly missed. Burial in Old Orchard Cemetery.
