MADISON, TN - CEMETERIES - Cotton Grove Baptist Church Cemetery ========================================================================= David Donahue, the creator of this file, declares it to be in the public domain. ========================================================================= COTTON GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY Madison County, Tennessee This cemetery is located at Cotton Grove Baptist Church at the intersection of Cotton Grove Road and Liberty Road. It is well maintained. As the cemetery clearly predates the 1840s when many West Tennessee churches were formed (see Anna Boon), it probably dates to the 1820s. Like most early- to mid-nineteenth century cemeteries still in use, fieldstones marking most early burials have been removed. Probably less than half of all burials are marked. Recorded by David Donahue October 7, 2001; update July 8, 2003. An earlier record of this cemetery appears in Madison County, Tennessee Cemetery Records, Volume II-North Half of the County, published by the Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society. This is referred to as MWTGS in notes below.
