MADISON COUNTY, TN COUNTY COURT MINUTES MINUTE BOOK 8, PAGE 255 AUG 1858 John Curlin, Deceased John V. Curlin, Executor John Curlin, decd. John V. Curlin, Exctr. A paper writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of John Curlin, descd., late of Madison County was this day produced in open Court for probate and record. Whereupon came Samuel B. Brown and M. Y. Harston the subscribing witnesses to said paper writing who being first sworn depose and say that they were acquainted with the aforesaid John Curlin, that he was departed this life, ___That he signed and acknowledged said paper writing in their presence to be his Last Will and Testament, that he was of a sound disposing mind and memory at the time of so doing ___And that they the subscribers their names thereunto affixed on the paper writing at the signing of the Testator. It is therefore ordered that the said paper writing be ordered by the Court to be the Last Will and Testament of the said John Curlin deceased, and recorded. Thereupon came John V. Curlin, one of the Executors designated and appointed by said Will, and (?) upon himself the burthen of the execution thereof, and (phrase unreadable) his bond as Executor in the sum of Three Thousand Dollars with John G. Brown and Hephen Brooks his sureties.
