[Note: The style of the Bill of Sale shows Thomas Wright as the grantor, but the instrument is executed by Francis Wright. No explanation is given for the inconsistency] John Curlin paid $400 for Rozetta. A slave woman named "Rozella" was later bequeathed to his wife Dolly Curlin in John Curlin's will [undated, but proved at Madison County Court August Term 1858 - we know he died 2 July 1858]. This is probably the same slave. I warrant the title to the said slave to the said John Curlin his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever. Attest: G.C. Forbett Jo B.
