Curlin and Sophia Ivey Curlin Chandler] and William H. Curlin [William Hugh Curlin, son of John Curlin] stand as sureties to his bond. MADISON COUNTY, TN COUNTY COURT MINUTES BOOK ?, PAGE 289 DEC 1860 John V. Curlin Ex Parte Petition to become guardian of James S. Chandler, David Chandler and Theophilus Chandler Be it remembered that on this day came in this cause to be heard; and it appearing to the Court from the petition filed in the cause, that James S. Chandler, David Chandler and Theophilus Chandler are minors and children of Ivy Chandler [Sophia Ivey Curlin Chandler, died May 1850, daughter of John Curlin] deceased, that they have have no regular gaurdian and it also appearing that they have an estate of about the value of one hundred and fifty dollars [$150] and that said petitioner is competent to manage and do care for said estate, therefore the Court appoints the petitioner John V. Curlin the guardian of said James S., David, and Theophilus Chandler, he entering into proper bond. Whereupon John V. Curlin came into Court qualified and entered into and acknowledged his bond in the sum of three hundred dollars with John G. Brown and William H.
