The State of Tennessee TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME--GREETING: Know Ye, That for and in consideration of office paid into the Office of the Entry-taker of Madison County, and entered on the 1st day of May 1845 pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of said State, passed on the 2nd November 1847, by No. 427 THERE IS GRANTED by the said State of Tennessee, unto Jesse J. Curlin a certain tract or parcel of Land, containing 450 acres by survey, bearing date the 1st day of May 1848 lying in said county, in Range 3 and Section 6 & 7--Beginning at a stake gum & beech pointers. The S.W. corner of Entry 2121 for 100 acres, in the name of John Law: Thence N. 100 poles [1650'] to a stake and beech pointers, a South East corner of Stephan Bryan's 75 acre occupancy; thence West 84 poles [1386'] to a stake, white oak four black-oak pointers, his S.W. corner: Thence N. 83 poles [1369.5'] to a white-oak, his N.W. corner: Thence E, 100 poles [1650'] to a white oak, the S. W. of A. Bingham's 160 acre occupant: Thence N. 100 poles [1650'] to a stake, hickory and black oak pointers, a S. E. corner of Entry No. 1448 for 200 acres in the name of I. W. Williamson: Thence W. passing his S. W. corner at 115 poles [1897.5'], in all 249 poles [4108.5'] to a black gum on the Range line, & the S. W. corner of R. Young's 153 acre occupant: Thence S. 223 poles [3679.5'] to a stake, beech and hickory pointers, the N. W. corner of Mary Smith's 41 acre Entry No. 59: Thence E. 148 poles [2442'] to a white-oak, har? N. E. corner: Thence S. 179 poles [2953.5'] to a stake, beech oak & white oak pointers, her S. E. corner on the N. boundary of Stanford Denny, Entry No. 2246 for 100 acres: Thence East 90 poles [1485'] to a stake: Thence North 38 poles [627'] to a stake in the S. boundary of Entry No. (missing) for 154 acres in the name of Burnet Burages: Thence West 30 to the S. W. corner: Thence North 160 poles [2640'] to his N. W. corner: Thence East 40 poles [660'] to the beginning. With the hereditaments and appurtenances.
