Curlin to Eaton Bond for a sale price of $177.50. The tract sold was part of a 150 acre grant of land granted to J.J. Curlin by the State of Tennessee, Entry No. 6539, on 8 September 1848 and located in Range 3 West, Section 6. This transaction was also noted in Madison County Court Minute Book 3, Page 26. Land involved: [Sec. 6, Rng. 3 W] MADISON COUNTY, TN REGISTER OF DEEDS DEED BOOK 16, PAGE 472 - 473 13 APR 1852 / REC. 18 MAY 1853 Jesse J. Curlin to Eaton Bond Deed State of Tennessee Madison County. This Indenture made and entered into this 13th day of April 1852 between Jesse J. Curlin of the one part and Eaton Bond of the other part, Witnesseth that the said J. J. Curlin for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy seven dollars and fifty cents [$177.50] to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained, granted and sold and doth by these presents, bargain, grant, sell and convey unto the said Eaton Bond a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Madison County State of Tennessee Range 3 Section 6 west of the meridian line and bounded as follows-- Beginning on a stake and two ironwood pointers, the southwest corner of Entry No. [blank] for 154 acres in the name of Barnet Bridges, running thence North with the West boundary line 160 poles [2640'] to a stake [?] West corner thence West 65 poles [1072.5'] to a stake and beach pointer in the East boundary line of Entry No. 39 for 141 [poles? 2326.5'] 128/160 acres in the name of Mary Smith; thence South 119 poles [1963.5'] to a black oak and white oak her South East corner thence West 7 poles [115.5'] to a hornbeam the N East corner of Entry No. 75 for 57 acres in the name of A. Denny thence south 79 poles [1303.5'] to a hickory and ironwood pointer his South West corner in the North boundary line of Entry No. 2246 for 100 acres in the name of Stanford P. Denny, thence East 82 poles [1353'] to a stake thence North 38 poles [627'] to a stake in the South boundary line of said Bridges Entry, thence West 30 poles [495'] to the beginning containing seventy one acres [71]. It being a part of a 150 acre tract granted the said J.J. Curlin by the State of Tennessee No. 6539 bearing date 8th of September 1848 and registered in Volume 9. The above named tract of 71 acres of land I bind myself my heirs assigns Executors and administrators forever to warrant and defend the title thereto to the said Eaton Bond his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all and every person whatever in testimony of which I the said Jesse J.
