Russell (wife of said Jesse Russell Jr.) of the County of Madison State of Tennessee for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred Dollars to us paid by W. K. Walsh & B. R. Harris the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained and sold and doth by these presents bargain, sell convey and transfer unto the said W. K. Walsh & B. R. Harris and their heirs and assigns forever, one fourth interest (undivided) in and to the following described town lot, situate, lying and being in the City of Jackson Madison County Tennessee bounded and described as follows, to wit: Beginning on a stake on the South line of Main Street it being the North West corner of the residence lot of Mrs. Cartmell runs thence west with South side of Main Street ninety seven (97) feet to J. R. Teague's North East corner. Then South about One hundred and ten feet (110) to the said J. R. Teague's South East corner on Capt Rice's North boundary line then east ninety seven (97) feet to Mrs. Cartmell's west boundary line. Thence North with Mrs. Cartmell's west line One hundred and ten (110) feet to the beginning, to have and hold the same to the said Walsh & Harris their heirs and assigns forever. And we do further covenant and bind ourselves, Our heirs, Executors and Administrators to warrant and forever defend the said One fourth Interest in said lot against the lawful claims of all and every Person whomsoever. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set Our hands this 12th June 1873. Jesse Russell (Seal) Sarah T. Russell (Seal) State of Tennessee, Madison County Personally appeared before me Jno T. Stark Deputy Clerk of the County court of said County the foregoing named bargainers Jesse Russell Jr. and Sarah T. Russell with whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledged that they executed the foregoing instrument for the purposes therein contained. And Sarah T. Russell wife of the said Jesse Russell Jr. having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband, the said Jesse Jr. acknowledged the execution of the foregoing instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion, coercion or constraints from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed.
