Russell wife of the said Jesse Russell Jr. and Mary Teague of the County of Madison and State of Tennessee for and in consideration of a certain town lot in the City of Jackson County & State aforesaid on the East side of Stoddert Street & known as the D. C. Sockman place this day conveyed to Sarah Teague Russell, wife of Jesse Russell Jr. and Mary Teague by W. K. Wals & B. R. Harris and the Sum of three Hundred Dollars to us in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained sold aliened and conveyed and do by these presents bargain sell alien and convey unto W. K. Wals & B. R. Harris of said City County & State all of our entire interest of every kind nature and description in and to the following described Town Lot in the City of Jackson State & County aforesaid bounded and described as follows to wit Beginning at a stake the North west corner of Mrs. Cartmells homestead Lot at a stake on the South side of Main Street Runs west with said Street ninety Seven (97) feet to a stake J. R. Teague North East corner Thence South with J. R. Teague East Boundary about one hundred & Ten (110) feet to J. R. Teague S. S. corner Thence East with J. T. Hayley North line ninety Seven (97) feet to a stake in Mrs. Cartmells west line Thence North with Mrs. Cartmells west line One Hundred and Ten feet to the Beginning and Known as the Mrs. Martha Teague Deed old place & the same Lot on which we now reside. To have and to hold the same with all the improvements thereon to the said W. K. Walsh and B. R. Harris their heirs & assigns forever we do further covenant with the said Wals & Harris that we are lawfully seized of one half interest undivided in said lot & bargained premises have a good right to convey & that the same is unencumbered we do further covenant and bind ourselves our heirs & to warrant and forever defend the title to said interest unto the said Walsh & Harris their Heirs forever against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. Burnett Clerk of the County Court of said County the Bargainers to the attached instrument Mary Teague, Jesse Russell and his wife Sarah T. Russell with whom I am personally acquainted and who severally acknowledged that they executed the attached instrument for the purposes therein contained. And Sarah T. Russell wife of the said Jesse Russell having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband the said Jesse Russell acknowledged the execution of the said instrument to have been done by her freely voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed.
