Teague deed to F. W. Yancy Registered April 24th 1868 This indenture made and entered into on this the 24th day of April A. D. 1868 between Martha C. Teague of the first part, and Fredrick W. Yancy of the second part, both of the County of Madison and State of Tennessee and citizens of the Town of Jackson. Witnesseth, That for and in consideration of the sum of Seven Hundred Dollars, Cash to me in hand paid by the said F. W. Yancy the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I have this day bargained and sold and do by these presents, bargain, sell alien, convey and transfer unto the said Yancy his heirs & assigns forever, a certain Town lot situate lying and being in the said Town of Jackson, Madison County and State of Tennessee described and bounded as follows. Beginning at a stake (on the North margin of Baltimore Street) the S. W. corner of M Cartmell's residence lot and runs thence North with his west line, one hundred and Sixty two (162) feet, to a stake; Thence West Eighty-four (84) feet to the N. E. corner of Thos W. Gamewell's Lot; Thence South with said Gamewell's East line 162 feet to Baltimore Street; Thence with said Street Eighty-four (84) feet to the Beginning, containing 13446 Square feet. To have and to hold the same to the said F. W. Yancy his heirs and assigns forever. I covenant and agree with the said Yancy that I am lawfully seized of said Lot and bargained premises, have a good right to sell and convey the same and that the same is unencumbered. I further covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to Warrant and forever defend the title to said lot to the said Yancy his heirs or assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. Teague, with whom I am personally acquainted, and acknowledged that she executed the foregoing instrument for the purposes therein contained Witness my hand, at office, this 24th day of April 1868 P.
