Teague, James R. Teague Registered Sept. 1st 1866 Whereas Abner Teague was in his life time the owner of a lot in the town of Jackson Tennessee situate on Main street. Beginning at the North east corner of Margaret Leas lot now R. H. Andersons, running East 161 poles to a stake thence South 270 feet to a stake its South East corner. Thence West 84 feet to a stake, the South East corner of the Ganaway lot. Thence North 163 feet to a stake, the N E corner of said Ganaways lot. Thence West with the North boundary line of the same 67 feet to a stake, the N. W. corner of said Ganaways lot. Thence continuing west 10 feet to a stake. Thence North 107 feet to the beginning from which an alley 10 feet in width was taken. And whereas said Teague in his lifetime conveyed in Trust to James R. Teague for the benefit of his creditors said lot, which in pursuance of a provision in said Trust was sold by James R. Teague, that is to say two thirds of the interest in the same to Geo N Harris and Wm H Long and one third to Thos. M. Greer. And whereas Geo N Harris & Wm H Long have since conveyed to Martha C. Teague their two thirds interest so purchased by them as aforesaid. And Thos M Greer has conveyed his one third to James R. Teague. And whereas at the time of said trust sale no division was made of said interest but they were sold as undivided. And whereas the said Martha C. Teague and James R. Teague by Commissioners mutually selected for that purpose have had said interest divided with the following result. To James R. Teague that part of said lot upon which there is a dwelling and Stable and bounded as follows. Beginning at the North East corner of Martha C. Teague's lot runs west along Main Street 53 feet to an alley. Thence South 107 feet to Gamewell's lot. Thence East 55 feet to a corner. Thence North 107 feet to the Beginning. Now therefore in consideration of the premises. I hereby convey remise and quit claim to James R. Teague all my interest in said described lot whatsoever. Oakes State of Tennessee Madison County Personally appeared before me P C McCowat clerk of the County Court of said County, Jessee Russell Jr. and W. J. Oakes subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument, who being first sworn deposed and said that they are acquainted with the bargainer, Martha C. Teague, and that she acknowledged said Instrument in their presence as her act and deed on the day it bears date. Witness my hand at Office This 31 day of August 1866 P. C.
