Teague, Martha C. Teague Registered Sept. 1, 1866 Whereas Abner Teague was in his life the owner of a lot in the town of Jackson Tennessee Situate on Main Street. Beginning at the North East corner of Margaret Leas lot now R. H. Andersons, running East 161 poles to a stake. Thence South 270 feet to a stake its South East corner. Thence West 84 feet to a stake, the South East corner of the Ganaway lot. Thence North 163 feet to a stake the North east corner of said Ganaway lot. Thence West with the North boundary line of the same 67 feet to a stake, the N. W. corner of said Ganaway lot. Thence continuing west 10 feet to a stake. Thence North 107 feet to the Beginning, from which an alley 10 feet in width was taken, And Whereas the said Teague in his lifetime conveyed in trust to James R. Teague said lot to secure certain creditors and whereas in pursuance to a provision of said trust, the said James R. Teague sold said lot, that is to say, two thirds of the interest in the same to Geo N. Harris and Wm H. Long, and one third to Thos N Greer, and executed to said purchasers deeds therefore. And whereas the said Wm H Long and Geo N Harris have since conveyed by Deed to Martha C. Teague their two thirds of said lot so purchased by them as aforesaid. And Thos N. Greer has conveyed to James R Teague by Deed his one third. And whereas at the time of said Trust sale no division was made of said interest but were sold as undivided. And whereas the said Martha C. Teague and James R. Teague by Commissioners mutually selected for that purpose have had said interest divided, with the following result. To Martha C. Teague that part of said lot which has upon it the "Central Hotel" and is bounded as follows. Beginning at the N. W. corner of Martin Cartmells lot runs West on Main Street 96 feet to a N. E. corner of James R. Teagues lot. Thence South 107 feet to Gamewell's lot. Thence East 12 feet to his N. E. corner. Thence South 163 feet to Baltimore Street. Thence East 84 feet to the S E corner of Martin Cartmell's lot. Thence North 270 feet to the Beginning. Now therefore in consideration of the premises, I convey remise and quit claim to said Martha C. Teague said lot above described together with all my interest therein. This August 25th 1866. James R. Teague (seal) State of Tennessee Madison County Personally appeared before me P C McCowat clerk of the County Court of said County the foregoing named bargainer James R, Teague with whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledged that he executed the foregoing Instrument for the purposes therein contained.
