ROBERT MARTIN Robert Martin applied for revolutionary pension while living in Marion County, Tenn., in August 1832. He was born in Lancaster County, Pa., April 10, 1755 and died in Hamilton County, Tenn., in 1844. He enlisted in the summer of 1775 in North Carolina troops in Mecklenburg County, N. C., under Capt. Caleb Fifer and Col. John Fifer. He served as a Lieutenant under Col. John Fyfer and Gen. Rutherford, when he volunteered again in February, 1776 in Mecklenburg County. He enlisted again in 1781 under Lieut. William Ross and Col. Caleb Fyfer and made cartridge boxes for the army. He lived in Mecklenburg County about 40 years. He moved to Marion County, Tenn., in 1821. He moved to Hamilton County later and his pension was transferred. In Hamilton County he lived with his son, Alexander Martin.
