RANSOME SMITH



     Ransome Smith applied for revolutionary pension while living in Marion

County, Tenn. in October, 1833. He was born in Hanover County. Va., April 11,

1761. He volunteered in Granville County. N. C. where he then resided, under

Capt. Howell Lewis. After the Revolution he moved to what is now Claiborne

County, Tenn., to Campbell County and then to Marion County in 1831.
