He was born in Fauquier County, Va., Nov. 24, 1756. He entered the service in Surrey County, N. C. under Major Joseph Winston and Capt. Richard Good. He also served under Capt. William Bostick and Capt. Humphries. He moved to Surrey County, N. C. before the Revolution and was living there when he enlisted. After the Revolution he moved to Sevier County, now Tennessee, about 1795 and moved in 1815 to Bledsoe County, Tenn. and then to Marion County in 1819. NOTE:-Ezekial Stone was the son of David and Elizabeth Jenifer Stone and the family records say that he was born in Charles County, Md., although the pension record says Fauquier County, Va. It is probable that his parents moved from Maryland to Virginia when he was an infant. He died in Marion County when he was nearly one hundred years old. He married Jane Wood. Their children were: William, who married Mary Randall; Richard W.; Thomas; Mary; Hannah: Rebecca: Elizabeth; and Mary. For further information concerning this family see Notable Southern Families.
