Robison normadeplume@wmconnect.com July 15, 2009, 4:42 am Revolutionary War Pension Application Mildred (WALLIS) RAGSDALE appeared and gave deposition concerning her father's Revolutionary War record. She stated that she saw her father, Matthew Wallis, give her brother, Matthew S. Wallis, the family Bible in 1821. She stated Matthew S. was preparing to move his wife and family to Alabama at that time. She also stated that her father made a copy of the family record contained in the Bible before he did so. Information from the statements of Matthew Wallis and his wife Mildred is also included in the following information. Matthew stated he was born in Pennsylvania 1 March 1762. He entered the service in North Carolina and lived there for about 25 years after the Revolution and then removed to Tennessee. Mildred Wallis stated that they were married 12 May 1785 and that Matthew died 6 February 1837.
