I James ALLISON being in a bad State of health but beleiving myself to be of sound mind and memory do this third day of August in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty eight make and ordain this as my last will and testament in the following manner (viz) First My will is that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner and that my funeral Expenses and Just debts be paid out of my estate. 2nd. that my wife Milly Allison have all my land During her widowhood also all the household and Kitchen furniture to dispose of as she pleases and her choice of the horses and two cows and calves also my negro man Warner. also my negro man Allen and my negro woman Violet during her natural life, and at her death to be Equally divided betwix all my children I also will that she have one hundred dollars in money 3rd. I will to my daughter Amrel my negro woman Sara and her son Henry & seventy five dollars in money. 4th. I will to my daughter Jan my negro Girl Caroline and my negro boy Jacob I also will that she have seventy five dollars in money. 5th. I will to my son Robert my negro boy Charles and my negro Girl Tanner also one hundred and eighty dollars in money and my will is that Sixty out of the one hundred and Eighty be Expended for schooling and that Robert Williams be his Guardian, and that he be allowed to hire his negroes at Moderate prices to Humane men. 6th. My will is that the before willed property willed to Amrel Allison and Jane and Robert Allison be considered and understood to be equal in amount to what I have hertogore given to my other children (vix) William C. Allison Thomas Allison & Mary T. Allison and Harriet Bowden. 7th. my will further is that all the remaining part of my property be equally divided betwix all my children (viz) ll not otherwise willed the land at my wifes Death or termination of her widowhood all to be divided Share and Share alike in Testamony hereof I hereunto subscribe my name the date above in the presence of us James Allison (Seal) James B.
