Will of John LIPSCOMBE
Marshall County Will Book A pg 51

I John LIPSCOMBE do make and publish this as my last will and testament hereby 
revoking and making void all other wills by me made at any time.   
First I direct that my funeral Expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after 
my death as possible out of any moneys that I may die possessed of or may 
first come into the hands of my executor
Secondly I ____ to my beloved wife Juda LIPSCOMBE  all and singular my 
property and effects during her natural life or so long as she remains 
my widow with this condition that my three daughters (viz) Rebekah LIPSCOMBE , 
Ann LIPSCOMBE  and Martha LIPSCOMBE  live and remain with her and have a 
support of my property as at present so long as they may live single.
thirdly. at the death or marriage of my wife Juda Lipscombe I give and bequeth 
to my two sons Henry Lipscombe Franklin Lipscombe my tract of Land whereon I 
now live to be equally divided between them
forthly.  my desire is that at the death of my beloved wife Juda LIPSCOMBE  or 
marriage that my negro man Frederick and all my personal probperty be sold and 
the proceeds to be divided equally between my three daughters (viz) Revekah 
LIPSCOMBE  Ann LIPSCOMBE  and Martha LIPSCOMBE  excepting three dollars which 
I give and bequeath to my son William LIPSCOMBE  and my teo daughters 
Elizabeth RETCHTY and Sally STUBBLEFIELD to be equally divided between them. 
Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint William WILKS Executor in witness 
whereof I do to this my will set my hand and seal this 31st. day of December 
1839

Signed sealed and published in our presence and we have subscribed our names 
hereto in the presence of the testator this 31st day of December 1839.

Personally appeared in open court John F. BRYANT and James J. BRYANT 
subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will .  And proved the due Execution of 
said will as the law directs which was ordered to be recorded.  Witness my 
hand at office this 3rd day of February 1840.
