Know all men by these presents that I John Thurmond of the County of Lincoln
and State of Missouri for good and sufficient causes me thereunto moving do
hereby nominate, constitute and appoint Philip Thurmond my true and lawful
attorney for me to get and in my name to collect any monies, receive any
estate either real or personal and to sale and convey my such estate the may
be due and coming to me as one of the heirs of Benjamin Johnson deceased late
of the county of Maury in the State of Tennessee and to do all and everything
in relation to my interest in said estate that I myself  could do, were doing
and to do the same in my own proper person.  And I do hereby verify and
confirm all of the acts of my said attorney as such, Given under my hand and
signed this 1st day of November in the year of our Lord 1848.
