Maury County, TN Deed Book J, page 73:
Written: January 19, 1819
Recorded: April 4, 1821

 “Joseph Freeland deed 150 acres, Maury County, conveyed by P. ANTHONY, 

registered April 4th, 1821. This indenture made this 16th day of January in the 

year of our Lord 1819 between PHILIP ANTHONY of Maury County and state of 

Tennessee of the one part and Joseph Freeland of the same county and state of 

Tennessee of the other part, Witnesseth, the said PHILIP ANTHONY, for and in 

consideration of the sum of $300 to him in hand paid by the said Joseph 

Freeland, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged…”



	“A certain tract or parcel of land…containing 150 acres, beginning at 

the NE corner of Daniel Davis’ tract running west 58 poles to a stake, thence 

north 30 poles to a hickory, thence west 30 poles to a buckeye, thence north 45 

degrees west 263 poles to a corner with pointers or an ironwood, thence north 

190 poles to the south boundary line of a 5,000 acre tract in the name of 

Gilbert, thence east on that line 107 poles to a corner on Gilbert’s line 

thence south 240 poles to the beginning…”
