Written: September 25, 1826
Recorded: July 28, 1829

 “John McKibban, deed 88 acres conveyed by PHILIP ANTHONY, registered the 28th 

day of July, 1829. This indenture made the 25th day of September 1826 between 

PHILIP ANTHONY of the one part of the state of Tennessee and county of Maury 

and John McKibban of the county and state aforesaid of the other part. 

Witnesseth that the said PHILIP ANTHONY, for and in consideration of the sum of 

$150 to him in hand paid by the said John McKibban, the receipt whereof is 

hereby acknowledged…hath conveyed…unto the said John McKibban…a certain tract 

or parcel of land…being in the county of Maury…on Brush Creek, a branch of 

Fountain Creek:”



	“Beginning at PHILIP ANTHONY’s NW corner of the 200 acre tract that he 

bought of John Childress on part of which he now lives, running thence north 

133 poles to a stake in the south boundary line of a 5,000 acre tract granted 

to William Gilbert, thence east with said Gilbert’s south boundary line 106 

poles to a stake, thence south 133 poles to PHILIP ANTHONY’s north boundary 

line 106 poles to the beginning…Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of 

us. Samuel Sewell, William McWilliams [one of PHILIP's sons-in-law, married to 

Elizabeth Anthony], Thomas Freeland. PHILIP ANTHONY”
