Written: February 22, 1828
Recorded: July 28, 1829

“Thomas H. Beaty deed, 100 acres conveyed by PHILIP ANTHONY, registered the 

28th day of July, 1829. This indenture made this 22nd day of February in the 

year of our Lord 1828, between PHILIP ANTHONY of the state of Tennessee and 

county of Maury of the one part, and Thomas H. Beaty of the state and county 

aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said PHILIP ANTHONY, for and in consideration of 

the sun of $500 to him in hand paid by the said Thomas H. Beaty, the receipt 

whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath…conveyed…unto the said Thomas H. Beaty…a 

parcel of land being in the County of Maury and state of Tennessee on Brush 

Creek, a branch of Fountain Creek:”



	“Beginning 58 poles west of Daniel Davis’s NE corner on a buckeye and 

hornbeam, thence north 30 poles crossing Brush Creek to a hickory thence west 

30 poles crossing said creek twice to a buckeye, thence north 45 degrees west 

30 poles to a hornbeam, thence north 190 poles to a rock on Gilbert’s south 

boundary line, thence with said line 58 poles to an ironwood, thence south 240 

poles to Daniel Davis’ NW corner, thence east 107 and 3/10 poles to the 

beginning.”
