Fitzgerald Deed Gift Executed by Pleasant Fitzgerald Sept. 17, 1867 Registered November 26, 1867 Know all by these presents that I Pleasant Fitzgerald of the County of Maury & State of Tennessee for and in consideration of the natural love and affection I have & bear Towards my Daughter Frances Emerline Fitzgerald of the County & State aforesaid, I have given transferred & conveyed & by these presents doth give transfer & convey unto the said Frances E. Fitzgerald for & during her natural life & for her sole separate and exclusive use & benefit during her life, one colt about five months old (mare colt) (description). Bay with 3 white feet star in its forehead & snip on its nose. The colt was folded mine which said colt I convey to the said Frances E. Fitzgerald free from the debts liabilities or contracts of her present or any future husbands & for her sole separate & exclusive use benefit as if she were a feme sole, during her life & at her death the said colt & its increase are to go to the children of the said Frances E. Fitzgerald & if any of said children at that time be dead leaving such child or children they shall represent & take the portion of their deceased parents, in witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 17 day of September, 1867. Fitzgerald subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed of gift, who being duly sworn depose and say that they are personally acquainted with Pleasant Fitzgerald the bargainor and that he executed the foregoing conveyance for the purposes therein contained.
