Fitzgerald Deed of Gift Executed by P. Fitzgerald August 7th 1852 Registered Oct. 13th 1852 Know all men by these presents that I Pleasant Fitzgerald of the County of Maury and state of Tennessee for and in consideration of the natural love and affection I have and bear toward my daughter Frances Emiline Fitzgerald wife of Garret C. Fitzgerald of the county of Giles I have given transferred & conveyed and by these presents doth give transfer & convey unto the said Frances Emiline Fitzgerald for and during her natural life & for her sole separate and Exclusive use & benefit during her life aforesaid a negro girl slave named Meany about Eleven years of age being a negro I raised, which said negro girl I convey to the said Frances Emiline free from the debts liabilities or contracts of her present or any future husband and for her sole separate & Exclusive use & benefit as if she were a femesole during her life and at her death the said negro Meany and her increase ar(e) to go to the children of the said Frances Emiline and if any of said children at that time shall be dead having children such child or children shall represent & take the portion of their deceased parents.
