This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Bill Fitzgerald wafitz@charter.net ==================================================================== Pleasant Fitzgerald deed Executed by Thomas Rountree 50 Acres Registered March 31st 1836 This indenture made this 23rd day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five, between Thomas Rountree of the one part and Pleasant Fitzgerald of the other part both of the county and State of Tennessee witneseth that the said Thomas Rountree for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five dollars to him paid in hand by the said Pleasant Fitzgerald the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold and conveyed and confied unto the said P. Fitzgerald his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Maury and State aforsaid on the waters of Leepers Lick Creek and bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at the North West corner of Bennett Blackman's sixty acre entry at a dogwood thence east with the north boundary of the same sixty poles to a dogwood thence North fifty poles to forked Beech thence west one hundred and ten poles to a chesnut thence south one hundred poles to a small sour wood thence east fifty poles to a beech and a hickory on the west boundary of the afforsaid sixty acres, thence north with said line fifty poles to the beginning, containing fifty acres, Entered by said Blackman the Eighteenth day of January one thousand and twenty seven by survey bearing date the sixteenth day of May in the year aforsaid was the grant Recorded in the Registers office of West Tennessee in Book No. 9 and No. of grant 7372 to have and to hold the aforsaid land with all and singular the profits rights and appurtenances in any wise, appertaining to the proper use and behoof of him the said Pleasant Fitzgerald his heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Routree for himself his heirs, Executors and administrators doth covenant and agree both the said Pleasant Fitzgerald his heirs or assigns that the above recited land he will warrent and forever defend against the right title interest or claim of all & Every person or persons whatsoever intestimony whereof the said Thomas Rountree both hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the Day and year above written.
