This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Bill Fitzgerald wafitz@charter.net ==================================================================== August 3rd 1825 The State of Tennessee...No.1127 TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME-GREETING KNOW YE, That for and in consideration of the sum of twelve and one half cents per acre, paid into this office of the Entry-taker of Maury county, and entered on the 15th day of July 1824, pursuant to the provisions of an act of the General Assembly of said state, passed on the 22nd day of November,1823, by No. 118. There is granted by the said State of Tennessee, unto Pleasant Fitzgerald A certain tract or parcel of land, containing Twenty Acres. by survey bearing date the 2nd day of November 1824, lying in said county, on the north side of Duck river on the waters of Snow creek; and bounded as follows to witt. Beginning two poles south (of) Beverly Dodson's north east corner at a stake. George Mitchells' beginning corner of his entry (of) location calling 10 degrees at Dodson's corner which (is two) poles inside said Mitchell's entry (which is older) running thence south thirty seven poles to said (original) north west corner of the tract (whence he lives), thence east with the north boundary and thence eighty two poles to a stake and pointers, Linsay's corner, thence north with Linsay's west boundary fifty two poles to a stake and Jet Porter's south boundary of entry no. 127, thence with said line west sixteen poles to Porter's south west corner on George Mitchell's east boundary line, thence with said line south fourteen poles to two elms, Mitchell's south east corner, thence with his south boundary west sixty nine poles & a half to the beginning. With the hereditaments and appertenances, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said tract or parcel of land, with its appertenances, to the said Pleasant Fitzgerald and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF Wm. Carroll Governor of the state of Tennesse, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the great seal of the state to be affixed, at Murfreesbrgt on the 15th day of july in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five and of the Independence of the United States, the 49th.
