MAURY COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - James Reese to Edward Hudson, 18 May 1820 ----¤¤¤---- DEED BOOK J., PAGE 117, REGISTERED 9 MARCH 1821 This indenture made this 18th of May in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and twenty between James Reese of the State of Tennessee and County of Maury of the one part, and Edward Hudson of the State and County aforesaid of the other part: witnesseth that the said James reese for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand by the said Edward Hudson, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given, granted, bargained, sold, alien, conveyed and confirmed unto the said Edward Hudson, his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Maury on Little Bigby. Beginning at a stake at Silas Henderson's southwest corner, thence west one hundred and one poles to a beach marked thus (H for signature), thence north one hundred & Eighty poles to a Sugar tree and black gum, Moses D. Harper's South boundary line. Thence East with said Harper's line forty poles to said Harper's South East corner on a dogwood, thence North Eighty poles to two ironwood Saplins, thence East Sixty one poles to an ash, thence South One hundred and ninety Eight poles to the beginning, being by estimation One Hundred acres, be the same more or less; it being part of a tract of land of five thousand acres granted to James Reese by the State of North Carolina, bearing date 1793, number of Warrant 674, with all the appurtenances lying and being as aforesaid with all and every of their rights to have and to hold the aforesaid land all and singular the rights, profits, emoluments, hereditament and appurtenance of and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Edward Hudson, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said James Reese, for himself, his Executors and administrators, doth covenant and agree to and with the said Edward Hudson, his heirs and assigns, that the before recited lands & bargained premisies he will warrant and forever defend against the lawful claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming in through or by me my heirs. In witness whereof the said James Reese hath set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
