By James Whitson Registered Dec. 10th 1818___________ This Indenture made and concluded on this 19th day of October 1818, between James Whitson of the one Part & Able Wilson of the other part both of the County of Maury and state of Tennessee. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars, to the afsd James Whitson, in hand paid by the afsd Abel Wilson, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained, sold, enfeoffed, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the afsd Abel Wilson, a certain piece or parcel of land situate, lying & being in the County & State afsd & on the waters of Snow Creek, a North Branch of Duck River. Beginning as follows---Beginning on a Dogwood- Running thence South 27 Degrees West 58 poles to a Beech, on section line, thence South 5 degrees East with sd Section line 108 poles to a Beech, thence East six poles to a stake, thence North 18 poles to a stake, thence 82 poles to a small Sugar Tree & stake, thence North 142 poles to an Elm, thence West to the beginning-containing by calculation 80 acres & 40 poles, be the same more or less. To have and to hold the afsd land, with all its appurtenances thereto, to him the afsd Abel Wilson forever, Also the afsd James Whitson, doth warrant & forever defend sd piece of land from him, his heirs, Executors, Administrators & assigns. Also do warrant and forever defend sd land from all lawful claim or claims whatsoever. Given under my hand and seal, the day and date first written.
