She was then 83 years of age. She stated that she married John Johnston in the summer of 1774 in Baltimore, Md., and that shorly after their marriage they moved to York District, South Carolina, where they resided until after the close of the Revolution. She stated that her husband was in the battles of Hanging Rock and King's Mountain and that he died October 5, 1818. She stated that after the close of the Revolution she and her husband and their children moved to Davidson County, Tenn., and from there to Maury County, Tenn., where she resided from 1807. She stated that she was born in Nottongham County, Maryland, in 1758 and that she was a member of the Methodist Church. They had several children whose names are not given in the application.
