April 21,1855. ACCIDENT--During the public speaking last Monday,whilst in the act of taking his hat from the mantle piece in the County Court Room, a pistol fell from the pocket of JOHN P.CAMPBELL,Esq.,the discharge of which took effect in the back of our esteemed young friend,HENRY T.OSBORNE,Esq.,of this place.We are happy to learn that MR.O. is in a fair way to recover,the wound being painful,but not considered dangerous. DIED ON THURSDAY--the 21st ult.,at the residence of HON.S.D.FRIERSON; MRS.MARY MAYES,in the 80th year of her age. DIED ON THURSDAY--the 28th instant.,at the Columbia Athenaeum (?), MISS SALLIE JANE OLDMAN, daughter of HON.WILLIAMSON S.OLDHAM, of Austin,Texas. DIED ON SUNDAY--the 1st instant.,MRS.ELIZABETH C.CROSS,wife of MR. ROBERT CROSS,of this place,aged 23 years. DIED ON SUNDAY--the 1st instant.,MISS ELLEN M.WINGFIELD,daughter of A.M.WINGFIELD,Esq.,of this county. DIED ON THE 28TH APRIL 1855--JOHN MACK,SR.,at his residence in this county in the 8(6?)th year of his age.He was among the first settlers of this county,and for many years he served as a Magistrate in the same,and me___of the time was an acceptable member of the C.P.Church. He leaves a widow,three grandchildren and many other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. ***************
