JOSEPH SHERMAN as early as possible. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS--of the Duck River Slack Water Navigation Company are requested to meet at the store of T.J.KELLY on the 14th, Saturday of next week for the purpose of electing a Director in place of GEN.GORDON. LAND FOR SALE--On the 15th day of August next,I will sell to the highest bidder at the market-house in Columbia,two tracts of land situated in Hickman County,Tenn.,belonging to JAMES BURNHAM,and on which he resides; containing 66 acres and 150 acres.$286.51,or thereabout,will be required of the purchaser in cash,and the balance on a credit of one or two years,with bond and good security. (EDWARD L.GREGORY is non-resident of Tennessee) NOTICE--The firm of JOHNSON & NICKS in Williamsport has been dissolved by mutual consent.The name of the firm is only to be used in liquidation by THOMAS P.JOHNSON,who takes upon himself the payment of all the liabilities of the firm,and is charged with collecting of all debts.June 22,1849. I HAVE CONSTITUTED--POWHATAN GORDON,my agent for the purpose of settling up the business of the above firm.All persond indebted to the firm will please call at the old stand of JOHNSON & NICKS, and settle their liabilities,and his receipt will be a good voucher to me.June 28,1849.
