Resolved- That we,the Whigs of Maury County,hereby nominate NEIL S.BROWN as our first choice for Govenor at the ensuing August election.(very lengthly,but no other names or new issues mentioned. NOTICE--On Thursday and Friday,the 29th and 30th days of this month, at the late residence of MATTHEW GRAY,deceased,in the County of Maury,and about two miles South of Bigbyville,I will sell to the highest bidder,on a credit of 12 months,the following valuable stock to wit:About 20 head of horses,some of them fine saddle horses; three Jacks,young and likely; 5 Jennetts; 2 yoke of Oxen; 9 Mitch cows,calves,&c.,about 40 head of Hogs,about 300 barrels of corn, some 5 or 6ooo pounds of Seed cotton, a Loam, a Spinning Jenny, the Fodder and Hay on said farm; the Hosehold And Kitchen Furniture,and various other articles,such as Plows,Hoes,and Axes,&c.Also at the same time and place,I will hire out until the 25th of December next, several valuable Negroes.The purchasers will be required to give bond and approved security on all amounts over $5,below that amount the cash will be required.All persons having claims against the estate of MATTHEW GRAY,dec'd,will present them as the Law directs,and those indebted to said GRAY will please call immediately and pay the same to Wm.R.HODGE.Administrator of M.GRAY,Dec'd. Columbis,March 8,1849. I HOPE--my friends who are indebted to me will come in at once and settle.I am compelled to get money to pay my debts,and must look to those who owe me for it.Enough said.
