WE INVITE THE ATTENTION--of our readers to the Advertisement of MR.J.W.CLARY,AIN THIS WEEKS'PAPER.iT WILL BE SEEN THAT HE PROPOSES TO OPEN A pRIMARY sCHOOL ON THE FOURTH mONDAY OF THE PRESENT MONTH. JUST AS WE WERE GOING TO PRESS-we received a communcation from MR.BUCHANAN,stating that he had agreed with MR.THOMAS upon some statements for Thurs.,Fri.,and Sat.,of the present week,at Lynnville, Bigbyville and Mt.Pleasant,but that the health of his daughter is such that he cannot think of leaving home now. NOTICE--Those indebted to the estate of JOSEPH SHERMAN,dec'd are desired to make payment to the undersigned,as she desires to close the business of the estate as soon as possible.Those having claims against the estate,are hereby notified to present the same for payment.10 July 1849. VALUABLE LAND FOR SALE--On Thursday the 6th of September next,we will sell at public auction,on the premises,on a credit of one, two and three years,with interest,the tract of land on which the late MRS.RUTH WILLIAMS lived.It is situated in Maury County,Tenn. 4 miles South-West of Columbia,near the Central Turnpike,and consists of two hundred and fifty acres,all enclosed by a substantial fence.The dwelling is of brick,built in modern style, contains seven elegant rooms and passages.The out-buildings are in good repair-some of them new.etc. Possession of the dwelling,kitchen,smoke-house,carriage-house,yard,garden,and one or more of the grass lots will be given immediately.The negro- houses and other out buildings will be reserved till the growing crop is gathered.JOHN L.SMITH, JAMES JONES, J.W.S.FRIERSON, Executors for GEN.S.H.WILLIAMS,dec'd.Columbia,Tenn.
