Will of Samuel Lusk Made May 18 1855, Maury County, TN. Proven November 1855. I Samuel Lusk being in a low state of health but sound in mind and recollections do make this my last will and testament which is as follows. 1st I will that my funeral expenses and all of my just debts be paid by my executors as soon after my death as possible. 2nd For the love and effection I have for my beloved wife Mary Lusk I will to her during her natural life my plantation and all the stock all the farming tools provisions household and Kitchen furnature I also will to her my two Negroes Sikes and Francis, all the money on hand, nots and effects for the suport of herself and my two children Samuel H. Lusk and Manday J Lusk. If my wife Mary should die before my youngest child above named arrives at the age of twenty one years old. I wish the Negroes above named to grow with the two children and not be hired out. I give to my wife Mary the power to give my two children when they are twenty one years old such property as she may think proper making them equal. I will to my daughter Catherine's bodaly airs Ten dollars . I will to the bodaly ares of my daughter Elizabeth ten dollars. It is my will that my step son Franklin Eps have a bed and furnatur and a saddel & bridel and a suit of fine clothes in addition to the colt that I have alreddy given him when he is twenty one. I have given my Grand son George Whiteside saddle and a colt. If he stays with my wife til he is twenty one, I wish him to have a fine suit of clothes a bed and furnatur. It is furthermore my will if my wife Mary should die before my youngest child above named arrives at the age of twenty one years that all my land, stock, and farming tools, household and Kitchen furnatur and every kind of property, except the Negroes, be sold, at the death of my wife, Mary. It is my will that Samuel H. Lusk and Manday Lusk have all my land, all my Negroes, stock, household & Kitchen furnatur after giving to my daughters children the sum before mentioned. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint Hugh C. Kirk, Kirk executor to this my last will and Testament in testamony whereof I hereto set my hand and seal this the 18th day May eighteen hundred and fifty five.
