First, I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any moneys that I may died possessed of or may come into the hands of my executors. 2nd. I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy Liggett, a negro boy named Martin. 3rd. I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Brown a negro man names Tom. 4th. I give unto my granddaughters Francis Smith, one negro child named Susan, a good horse, bridle and saddle, a bed and furniture, one bureau and one press. 5th. I give and bequeath unto my son William T. Lee, the tract of land, whereon I now live, containing one hundred twenty acres be it more or less. 6th. I give to my grandson John L. Smith a horse, saddle and briddle worth one hundred and twenty five dollars and a bed and furniture, at such time as my wife and my executors may think proper. 7th. I direct that my wife Francis Lee, keep if she choose to do so, possession of the land and all my negroes viz: Tom Martin, Ann and all her children during her natural life and such of the stock and other property as she may require for her maintenance. 8th. I direct that My executors sell the remainder of my property not hereby disposed of and divide the proceeds equally between my three daughters Nancy Leggett, Mary Brown and Sarah Bailey. 9th. At the death of my wife, Francis Lee, I direct that my executors sell my negro woman Ann and her three children to wit: Harry, Dick and Tene and such other increase as she may have, and all my other property not heretofore disposed of in her possession and divided the proceeds between my three daughters, Nancy Leggett, Mary Brown and Sarah Bailey, so as to make Sarah Bailey's portion equal with the other two. 10th. I direct that the legacies bequeathed to my daughter Sarah Bailey be not paid to her but that my executor keep it on interest for her benefit and pay her annually the interest thereon during her natural life and at her death it is to be divided equally among the heirs of her body. 11th. I do hereby nominate and appoint my son William T. Lee and my son-in-law Jackson Leggett, Executors of this my last will and testament and the confidence I have in their honest and integrity I request that they may be permitted to act as such without giving security, excepting as regards the legacies given to Sarah Bailey.
