Maury County Deed Book M, page 458:
Written: March 17, 1828
Recorded: July 25, 1828

 “Morgan Fitzpatrick, conveyed by PHILIP ANTHONY, registered July 25th, 1828. 

This indenture made the 17th day of March 1828, between PHILIP ANTHONY and 

Morgan Fitzpatrick. Witnesseth the said PHILIP ANTHONY, for and in 

consideration of $100…”



“On the waters of Globe Creek, beginning at a white oak in the east boundary 

line of the original 200 acres that the said PHILIP ANTHONY bought of John 

Childress, the same being Hiram Anthony’s NE corner, running thence 86 poles to 

a rock with a small ash and hornbeam for a pointer, thence north 60 poles to a 

rock with a white walnut for a pointer, thence east 8 poles to a hornbeam with 

a small ash for a pointer, thence north 22 poles to a stake with 2 dogwoods and 

a hickory for pointer, thence east 78 poles to a stake, thence south 82 poles 

to the beginning, containing 43 acres more or less.”
