Emma Jordan, 86, well-known resident of Decatur, died Friday in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of A. (Tudge) Jordan who died in 1962. Mrs. Jordan and her husband were well-known in McMinn County as well as in Meigs County where they operated a farm until retiring a few years ago. She was the daughter of the late Luke and Mary Jane Wattenbarger Simpson. She was an active member of the Sewee Church of God, taught Sunday school class for several years and was active in community affairs. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Zieglar of Decatur and Mrs. Elizabeth Collins of Lake Placid, Florida; one granddaughter, Mrs. Jim Hagler, Kingston: three great-granddaughters, Pattie, Julie, and Heidi Hagler; two sisters, Mrs. Alpha Snyder, Niota, and Mrs. Eva R. Ringo, Spokane, Washington; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday at 4 p.m., in Sewee Church of God with the Revs Herbert Neff and Earl J. Collins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Ziegler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
