This old Cemetery is located behind the old Frank Mathis

home on Mathis Lane. The property now belongs to Troy Eugene

Mathis.It is believed to be on Mark Mathis' property which

was at one time deeded to Stanford Mathis. It is probably

about 5 miles East of Pocahontas, Tennessee near the

railroad tracks and the Tuscumbia River. In the 1940's there

were about 20 large tombstones in this cemetery which,

except for two headstones, have unfortunately, been

destroyed. Can find no information as to whether this area

was a settlement or was occupied by workers on the railroad.

Any information about this cemetery would be appreciated.
