If you can Not get any one to drive for you to come to Corinth can you get some one to meet me at the Bus station in Jackson if I come up there? Let me know what day you can meet me this week. I got a 15 day round trip ticket to Corinth, so I will have to go back to Decatur by June 12th. I did so much want to see you all this summer. I am afraid you started and had tire trouble on the way. Do hope you are ok. Yesterday Uncle Gus, Wesley, Annis & I went to the old family cemetery. Mr Brumley lives on it now. They have cut off the upstairs and built 2 new side rooms. So we did not know the place. A negro man shows us where the graves were. We found the metal marker at papa's grave. All the others were gone. We planted 5 iris (she drew v v v v v) like that on each of the 17 graves. The Negro man with us located the graves by poking an iron rod down in ground. Where it went down easy it was a grave So on (?) we planted beautiful Iris. Forever the graves are marked with living, blooming Iris. It needs us (?) no watering. I bought $1.00 from Milton Ruhel and told him what it is for so he gave me 86 bulbs or plants with roots. How lovely it will be next spring when they bloom about May 1st, I think! We took a granite stone and placed it near the center of the cemetery, between grandpa's and Uncle Walter Lee's grave. I made a copy of the Cemtery, grove of Cedar trees, marker, flowers for you. Will bring it to you or mail it if I do not come. The Cemetery is 1 ½ mile from Guys, and that is a short distance from the Corinth-Jackson highway. I think Guys is 8 or 10 miles North of Corinth so any time you want to drive to see it, you find the way to Guys from the highway and then 1 ½ miles over to the old Richardson home where Mr. Brumley lives now. On the granite stone marker are these words: (A drawing was made of a stone and inside the stone it says) Richardson Family Cemetery Rev. W.F. Richardson Nov. 28, 1818 - Jan. 10, 1889 On the right she wrote It was cemented to a concrete base in the ground so it will be there always. We shall never have any more trouble finding the cemetery. We are having some concrete posts made and will get wire and put three strands around the graves. We estimated cost of everything as follows. Stone Marker 30.00 Cleaning lot - 3.00 cutting small trees, weeds, vines Concrete posts - 10.00 Wire and rings 5.00 Rings to hold the wires Putting up fence 10.00 carrying posts, wire, digging, stretching wire on them $ 60.00 On the side of the figures is a drawing of a fence and she states three were like this: Annis gave 10.00 Lucy gave 5.00 Uncle gave 5.00 Toby gave 10.00 30.00 So we paid for the stone. Still owe for cleaning the lot, and will wait until we get the money to put up fence. Annie promised 10.00 for herself and 10.00 for Jewell if we need it. We wrote Jim for 10.00 if he can spare it. Walter said he would give 10.00 this fall to the one who paid the most on it. So it would go to Annie if she pays 20.00 on it. I could only pay 1.00 for the Iris to put on the graves. Let me know when you can meet me in Jackson if you can not come to Corinth now. Uncle is leaving for Little Rick today to see Toby then go home Friday or Saturday. He is so sorry to miss seeing you and the children. Love to all Falla Explanation as to who is buried in the Cemetery. First row going down on the left.
